Yesterday, water change day, I tested my tap water's PH. A couple of times a year the water company stops using Chloramine temporarily. This is one of
those times so I wanted to be sure the PH hadn't changed. Sure enough, the PH came out dramatically different! It went from about 7.6 to 6.8! After
panicking for a few minutes I decided to redo the test. To my relief, it was a false alarm.
The PH had not changed at all (!) so I went ahead with the water
change. Afterwards, I started thinking about it. What if the PH really had changed? I can delay a water change for a few days but eventually it needs
to be done. Do I replace just a small amount daily so the PH is altered slowly? What is the best way to handle this? Just want to be prepared...
