I agree - I think that the second girl (laying on her side) has fungus. Girl #1 - I'm not 100% sure, but I'm also leaning to fungus as it mainly grows on dead/raw tissue... however, flex is most common around the head area and can also enter the body through open wounds. Since you already started medicating with Kana - make sure you continue for at least one full round... and continue with the Maroxy until (hopefully) the fungus is gone. I hope they pull through... but they do look in terrible shape. Appetite of any kind is something to hold on to... so I personally wouldn't euthanize if they're still eating... but once they stop eating... then the choice is a bit easier (if that's possible) - especially if they continue to go downhill despite the meds. I'm interested in what Dr. Barb or Ash think whether it's flex or fungus on girl #1 (just so I know...) Good luck with them Gina... they couldn't ask for a better shot at life! Michele

The skin under it certainly looks VERY irritated Geez, its so painful to watch them today!
Some updated pics from this morning....
Girl Number One - honestly if someone can PM me the most humane way to euthanise I am thinking I should...shes miserable]
Girl Number Two: It appears the 'fungus' has grown overnight. But Ive started her on the course of treatment...but so we can possibly get better judgement I wanted to post these.

They are both is clean water. I went and changed it totally this AM. The yuk u see in Girl Number Ones water is her own slime/fuzz coming off her I wish I could physically wipe that icky fuzz of them but I kow it would hurt them moreso. REALLY appreciate the link for clove oil. Ive heard about it but I suppose I am not really as prapared as I figured because Ive never gone ahead and actually done that before. But in this instance I feel its best Shes sufferring badly I can just see it. She may not even last by the time I get back from the store.

Mattsmommy2 wrote: Hey Gina... are both girls now if complete clean water or do you think there is traces of the old still in there? (You can test for ammonia to be sure.) I understand how hard it is to see this... esp Girl #1. It does look painful... If you feel it is the right thing to do... you need clove oil. Here is the link to humanely euthanizing a fish. Is Girl #1 eating at all? The thinking behind them still accepting food is that they are probably not in so much discomfort if they are willing to eat. I'm so sorry, Gina... at least they got to know what clean water felt like. But I hope there's hope! Michele
I cant get that link to open up

At least she got to feel some clean water for a short time... and most importantly... somebody actually LOVED her for a short time. Bless YOU! And her little self... swim free "Little Cherub"... I'm glad Little Cherub #2 is accepting bloodworms... hopefully with the meds and clean water... she can beat it! to YOU, Gina! You are so brave to take these poor souls on. Michele P.S. Were you able to find the clove oil? It'll be good to have on hand. I have some now for "just incase".
