Michelle, Tetralina and Everyone,

My local aquarium store was very helpful this morning, and I always want to thank this forum for being available for help in my panic. The aquarist suggested that my frog may have burnt himself on the heater, which he does like to hide behind. Her frogs do this all the time, I understand. She said to put him back in the tank, because the fungus is already there and out of the tank he will be very cold and stressed. I returned him to the tank and added 2 tsp. of Pimafix, which she said I should use to treat my whole tank. She had very high hopes for his recovery. He is still moving and quite active despite his injury, and the biggest change in his behaviour is his continual use of the zen position, which I assume is because it is easier for him to breathe that way with less work.

As for my tank being overcrowded, I was going by the 1 inch per gallon rule. My break down is

2 mollies = 4 inches
2 gouramis = 4 inches
7 guppies = 7 inches
2 ADF = 3 inches
1 pleco = 2 inches

TOTAL = 20 inches

I'm getting rid of the pleco though. I really dislike these bottom feeders other than ADFs. They are unpleasant.

I have read through the FAQ previously, and until this incident, my tank has been functioning well. I've felt confident that I'm at least more knowledgeable than the Petsmart Staff that told me I could feed my first ADF flakes, and he obviously died. Since then I've become much more informed. I will say farewell to the pleco and let things lie for a while. I am also never buying mollies again, as they are dirty and mean. I think tetras and frogs are going to be my thing from now on.
