Since there's no bulge now - and you're not seeing any other symptoms of bacterial infections or tumours, is it possible she might be (or was) constipated (not passing poo)? This might explain the bouyancy (tipping) problem as constipation can lead to swimbladder issues. I would isolate her and attempt fasting for 3-4 days (you can count the current day or two if she hasn't been eating) and follow up with some frozen/thawed/deshelled pea (not canned - it contains salt.) If this is a swimbladder issue, then antibiotics are not usually recommended unless we've tried everything else first with no success... as these problems are rarely caused by bacterial infections. Another thought is - is it possible she is being bullied or chased after incessantly from any of the other fish or a male platy (assuming there is a male explaining the younger ones??)
I'd wait for Ash or Dr. Barb to comment on where you would go from here... but I think isolating her at the very least is wise and keeping her water pristine.... and maybe fast for a few days (and watch for poo.) After fasting, if the bouyancy problem seems to be corrected, I would feed lightly and pre-soak any dried food offered (in a never-seen-soap cup for about 5 mins in some treated tap water.) I hope she gets better, Debs! Michele
