Hi Dr. Barb

This is 15 watts fluoro lighting on a 5-gal? Well at first I was using the standard 15 watt bulb that came in the Elcipse 5 Corner Aquarium, however, as I've been reading here I discoverd that maybe that wasn't enough lighting for them. That part kind of confused me a bit so I still don't know if I have the right kind of lighting, but I bought a new 15 watt bulb. It's called Colormax by Coralife. On the box it states that it makes water sparkle, intensifies fish colors, improves plant growth and fits all standard tank tops. It says it's an incandescent bulb.

How many hours do you have the lights on each day? I had the standard lights on all the time for the first day and now I have the lights on about 12 hours a day. I turn them off when I go to bed and then about an hour after I wake up I turn them back on.

How long have the plants been in the tank? The plants have been in there for 3 days. They were put in last Thursday.

Did you add salt to the tank? No salt.

Any fish in the tank? Yes, 2 gold skirted tetras

What's the GH of your water? GH is 150ppm in that tank

I hope I answered everything correctly. I'm just really confused about the type of lighting I can use here. I read a little, but don't understand about the intensity part.
