I think I'm getting sick of this tank. the cycle is unbelievable, uncontrollable...........I have done 50% water changes daily for a week now! I am amazed that all live stock is healthy at this point.(you can check out the readings in my fishless cycle diary on the freshwater forum)

I removed all the plants today and rinsed and trimmed them then I placed them in mesh bags with fine gravel so they would quit floating around. the banana plant did not get the bag treatment..............I removed the lily bulb and put it in a glass of water with other bulbs just to see what it would do, it's just a big stringy mess with a pathetic piece of flower on the end. I also removed one of the smaller plants as it was coming apart and bits of were floating all around the tank. I used one of those mesh bag for washing delicates in and cut it up and used rubber bands loosly to hold it all together.

The frogs are so unhappy with me for messing up things and the harliquins need headlights to see, what a stired up mess!

I hope that this tank will settle down and preform for me, so that I can enjoy it, right now it is the biggest time waster in my day. Maybe after the first of the year if everything is still alive I can lay a nice flourite bottom down for the plants and then a nice layer of large gravel for the frogs. the reason I would like to do a flourite bottom is for the clay like properties of this material, then the plants will really be anchored and then can thrive.

I'm going to change the name of this tank from the "swamp" to "the tank from h***"
