You are using the same caution I did.

I was on new ground with this, not knowing if it would help or hurt, but I had to try something for my boys. I had CJ in for less than an hour the first time. The next night he nibbled weakly on half a worm. (I had been dangling, rubbing worms on his nose for up to a half hour the nights before.) The next night he stayed in 2 hours. He ate a worm later. (I didn't feed while he was in the Pedialyte.)

Dunkin took several nights to start eating. He had gone without food the longest, but had been the fat frog. Again, I had coaxed and coaxed with hemostats before, but I didn't get any reaction until after the baths. (Of course, they had had meds also.)

I say two hours as a precaution. It is slightly hypertonic, and that would not be good for a long soak for an emaciated ADF like CJ had become. I had also considered liquid baby vitamins for them if they kept refusing to eat, with the logic that their skin absorption would get some nutrition in their little bods. The Pedialyte treatment is an established procedure for other amphibians and some reptiles.

Hoping the best for your little one JBOT :)
