Jasmine update June 1

She is still alive. But today she looked weeker. I gave her one pellet. She kinda bounced it around a bit but then ate it! I gave her her second but I think it was too soon...she ate it then started flashing again! I think I saw another scale fall off. : ( . . I put the plastic spoon I use to feed her in the tank to slow her down and that helped but I cant always be there! She barffed up the second pellet after that. I will try another one in a few hours.

Ive been wondering how her left side looks. She always has her right side out .Is the gill area still swolen? I was thinking if the gill area is not sticking out as much then the meds are working on it. Remember someone said it was gill flukes. Do you think there is a chance she has that too or just a really set in case of Velvet?. When you catch velvet early (but if their already flashing) how long does it take to kill Velvet and do they stop flashing then or does it bother them forever? When she takes her pellet in her mouth her tail opens up for just a few seconds. I think the finrot is better. Im so glad she is on antibiotics! Do scales grow back or does the area just scar? She pooped yesterday so that part of her body is still working.

It breaks my heart to see her like this. I wonder if she is in a lot of pain. Wonder if there is anything you can give a betta for pain. I just leave her brown paper around her tank and let her rest. Last two nights Ive slept on the floor by her because I didnt think she would make it and I didnt want her to die alone. Its odd but its the best sleep Ive had in a week. Of course I pray over her all day long also.

Im planing on doing a 100% change today. I will be able to get a better look at her when she is in her changing bowl. Im going to move it up a few hours (hope thats ok with the 24hr med cycle) because I wont be home at the regualr changing time and I also want a few hours to observe her after. Oh the rock is not going back! Decided that but forgot to mention it. Oh also wondered if the AmQuel cut so much of the Mal Gr out that perhaps its taking longer for the med to work (besides the delay in meds). Oh and I goodfed yesterday! I used some AmQuel treated water I had for the meds....forgot. But it was less than a cup so I gues thats not too bad. Remind me again....does Spring water need to be treated? I ask cuz I could use that for the meds etc and then it wont interfear.

I moved Chloe last night. I feel a lot better about that.

Yesterday after Jasmine ate I was really encouraged. But today Im not. If she keeps flashing I dont see how she can survive. I kinda feel like today is the turning point, like if she can survive today maybe she will make it. Yesterday Im thinking if by some miracial she survives this its going to be a long hall with all her other injuries. : ( . .

Keep positive thoughts or prayers coming our way! Thanks!
