Hi there,

Yes, you have to be very diligent to avoid any cross-contamination between your tanks right now. Avoid water droplets spraying, dripping water from the medicated tank into the the others, and don't share any equipment at all. Also, don't work with the infected tank and then put your hands or fingers in the other tanks.

I would be careful to keep tanks covered even at change time because bettas can jump quite well so use a temporary cover if you need to while doing waterchanges.

You are asking how best to handle partial waterchanges required by the meds when using a waterchange bowl, right? ER mods, can you help with those specifics so it is clear. I am not sure what medications require partial changes etc. so they can give you specifics.

Yes, Amquel can inactivate that medication from what I recall.

Do you know if your tapwater is treated with chloramines (even sometimes) or just plain chlorine? Not everyone knows that fact but I thought I would ask. The reason is if your water is just treated with chlorine, you can use NovAqua alone to treat the water (I do) and it does not interfere with those medications because it has a different active ingredient. If it is treated with chloramines, Prime would be a good substitute for AmQuel if you can find it.

What fizzy tabs do you have? The reason I ask is we need to make sure they don't work like AmQuel or you will be still running into the same problem.

Can you describe where you are at now? Did you do a partial change and add the dose of the meds or are you waiting for input?
