Yeah, I like the 2 different substrates too. It seems to work out well and looks pretty nice. Thanks for the compliment.
I've put a lot of time into getting it the way I wanted - I gradually worked on it, added ornaments, took them out, got new ones...lol. It has been quite a process! It's fun though. And it's really nice now that I'm getting closer to what I want it to be like, and have it well stocked...it's neat to watch the fish swim around; they really enjoy the driftwood and plants, plus of course the sand (and the loaches like to bury themselves in the gravel; sometimes I'll see just a tail sticking out!). At one point I was going to keep all my receipts and do a spreadsheet to track how much I have spent...well, I've decided I am probably better off not knowing! lol.
