Yeah, I live in a dorm. I have my beta fish that I bring back and forth for the longer breaks plus my 2 hermit crab tanks. Dragon, my beta has been traveling with me for the past 3 1/2 years with no ill effects. My hermit crabs get placed in little plastic containers (w/ holes in the lid) with eco earth on in the bottoms. They are then placed in the tank like that. They don't get stressed out either. I only take them home on long breaks too. On top of the beta and the hermit crabs I am fostering my friends' goldfish while they are studying abroad this semester. He is fine too (surprisingly they won him at a fair over year ago and he is going strong). The frogs however, seem to get really stressed because their tank is too big to move with water so they would get put into a smaller tank and then back into the big one at home. I've noticed that they become lethargic for a day after the trip then perk back up. Its just too hard on the little guys.
