Besides the neons and glo lites, I have a gibbicept pleco in there with a small piece of driftwood, about four inches long and half inches in width, small enough to fit through the opening of a soda bottle. Will it eat the slime coating of the goldfish? I have it in there to clean the inside of the tank glass and any algae that may appear.

The four goldfish I have are three orandas and one lionhead. I know that they get big and was planning to give them away once they get bigger or move them to a better tank with more space. If over population is the case, is it possible to do more frequent water changes to keep them? Will the fish be better if I lower the temperature back to 75-78? I want to try fix the tank condition first and remove fish as the last thing to do. I really like my fish and want to keep them.

I've tested the water before, about two months ago and the water is good, except for the ph which I fixed. I vacuum the bottom and clean the tank like I should be doing. Could the dying fish and the problem I have now can be related to addign aquarium salt into the water? If that's the case, I'll stop adding or decrease the amount. I've also noticed something strange, the only waste I see in the tank is the snails' waste and not the goldfishes'. Can that be due to the adding of salt? Other than the missing of waste, the fish seem to be healthy and are eating well. I really want to make the tank better but I'm clueless. For some reason, when people come and ask me for fish problems, I'm able to help them, but when those problems happen to me, I'm clueless and don't know what to do. Can all of you more pro people guide me through this? Thanks!
