I basically got a white 5 gallon bucket...filled it with a mix of tap/pond water, and then filled an old stocking with some banana peels, old pet food etc. Bucket water begins to smell and get cloudy but the stocking keeps the gunk contained. The youngest tadpoles were observed reacting to them so it seems like good news.

I am left with one tadpole from the oldest batch. The smaller one was found laying on the bottom, and had troubles with buoyancy. Seems to happen to most tads that perish. I'm trying to figure out a way to make it as easy as possible to raise them in a classroom setting...where a BS hatchery would be a bit tedious. I could always bring them once a day.
